Time to snuggle in for the year, and what better way to do it than with a book form the Museum's store?  We have a new customer favorite in: from the Images of America series Kelso by George Miller, William (Bill) Watson, and the Museum.  Copies signed by Bill are available.  Also in the Images of America series Castle Rock by Vicki Selander is still available.  As the time of harvest comes it's time to start cooking so try our new cooking books Cast Iron Skillet and Cast Iron Skillet: Big Flavors, as well as Dutch Oven and Plank Grilling cook books.  Buy any one of these cook books and a museum apron together and get $5.00 off!  Lighten the gray days with a little humor in Don't Jump! The Northwest Winter Blues Survival Gide.  Stuck inside? Get creative with the Things to make and Do Journal.  Enjoy the long nights with Night lights: Stories & Essays from Northwest Authors from the Humanities Washington event Bedtime Stories where more than 50 short stories and essays by Northwest authors were shared.  From these, 21 treasures were selected to form a rich collection in one book, written in the stylistically diverse voices of the Northwest.  Those interested in the natural history of the Pacific Northwest will enjoy Bretz's Flood which chronicles a rebel geologist's uncovering of the world's greatest flood.  A new train lovers must have item are the 2012 Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific calendars.

The Young Readers section has been expanded to include a pioneer section with Stories of Young Pioneers in their own Words and Oregon Trail: A graphic novel as well as coloring books, sticker books, and paper dolls all on pioneers.  The Young Readers section now also has the Adventures of Lewis and Clark and coloring book as well as Sacajawea's Son and Sacajawea coloring book to accompany the Famous Be'an Collectibles historical figure dolls of five members of the Lewis and Clark expedition including Seaman, Lewis' Newfoundland dog, dressed in their appropriate attire with hanging tag featuring an original colorful illustration along with information (in poetic verse and prose) about the historical figure.  Other dolls available in the Be'an collectibles are such iconic figures as Uncle Sam, Rosie the Riveter, and Abraham Lincoln.  Also available is Ice Age Mammals and coloring book for the young naturalist.  Beginning readers will delight in the children's illustrated books Eagle Boy, Totem Tale, Tongass: the Last American Rain Forest, and Three Bears of the Pacific Northwest.  New toys include drop spindles, kazoos, needle point book mark kits, nose flutes (try looking it up on YouTube), traditional ladies fans, and new spinning tops.  There's lots more at the Museum Store so don't miss it.
