from Northwest Authors
from the Humanities Washington event Bedtime Stories where more than 50 short
stories and essays by Northwest authors were shared.
From these, 21 treasures were selected to form a rich collection in one
book, written in the stylistically diverse voices of the Northwest.
Those interested in the natural history of the Pacific Northwest will
enjoy
Bretz's Flood which chronicles a rebel geologist's uncovering of
the world's greatest flood. A new
train lovers must have item are the 2012 Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union
Pacific calendars.
The Young Readers section has been expanded to include a
pioneer section with
Stories of Young Pioneers in their own
Words and Oregon Trail: A graphic novel
as well as coloring books, sticker books, and paper dolls all on pioneers.
The Young Readers section now also has the
Adventures of Lewis and Clark and coloring book as well as
Sacajawea's Son and
Sacajawea coloring book to accompany the Famous Be'an Collectibles historical
figure dolls of five members of the Lewis and Clark expedition including Seaman,
Lewis' Newfoundland dog, dressed in their appropriate attire with hanging tag
featuring an original colorful illustration along with information (in poetic
verse and prose) about the historical figure.
Other dolls available in the Be'an collectibles are such iconic figures
as Uncle Sam, Rosie the Riveter, and Abraham Lincoln.

the Cowlitz County Historical Society's Cowlitz
County: Then and Now, copies are still
available.
A collaborative effort of Travis Cavens and Dave
Freece, the book features historic photographs from the museum's collections
paired with new photographs of the same sites taken by Cavens.
A popular title since its publication, the cost
per book is $29.95 plus $2.31 tax ($32.26 total), or $26.95 plus $2.08 tax
for members of the Cowlitz County Historical Society ($29.03 total).
