Public Works Art -  May 2012

Cowlitz County Department of Public Works invites artists, grades 9 – 12, to submit original art for the first Cowlitz County Public Works Art Contest. Art should feature service-oriented or infrastructure with strong and/or bold elements illustrating one or more of five central service themes: Road Operations and Maintenance; Utilities; Solid Waste; Engineering; and Construction.  Garbage Monster Contest - November 2012

What are you going to do with all your candy wrappers from Halloween? Throw them away?

Trash is a major problem. Build a Trash Monster from all your Halloween trash, including costume packaging, candy wrappers or anything else that is a direct result of the Halloween extravaganza. Submit your Monster, with an index card describing how you can reduce trash like the Monster trash through recycling or reusing to your school office or the Department of Public Works office at 1600 - 13th Avenue South, Kelso.

Prizes will be awarded for grades K - 8.
