Prescription Drug Take-Back
Misuse of prescription drugs is a large and growing problem.
Prescription drug drop-off sites can be very effective in
preventing unused narcotics from falling into the wrong hands.
Cowlitz County is doing our part to help our community remain
safe and reduce opportunities for our citizens to become
addicted to a variety of prescription drugs.
April 28, 2012 - National Prescription Take-Back Day. Local
sites will be open, see The Daily News article
here for more details.
Area residents are encouraged to get rid of outdated,
unwanted pills in a program sponsored by the Cowlitz Substance
Abuse Coalition and the Longview Police Department. Unwanted
prescription drugs will be collected for destruction between 8
a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Longview Police
Department Lobby.
Other locations participating in the drop off of unwanted
medications are:
- Castle Rock Pharmacy at 117 First Ave S.W., Castle Rock,
during regular business hours.
- Godfrey’s Pharmacy at 270 N. First, Kalama, during
regular business hours.
- Woodland Police Department at 100 Davidson Ave,
Woodland, during regular business hours.
- Hi-School Pharmacy at 1365 Lewis River Road, Woodland,
during regular business hours.
