Bill Payment
Utility bills are either for water or sewer, or for both
services. Cowlitz County Public Works provides services to only
certain portions of rural Cowlitz County which include Ryderwood,
Toutle, Spirit Lake Hwy, Camelot, Woodbrook, and Toutle
Riverview. There is also a small industrial area located off of
Fibre Way in Longview. Services in other rural areas are
provided by Beacon Hill Water Sewer District.
Bills for water and sewer utility services are dated the 15th of
each month and they are mailed on approximately the 20th of each
month. Bills include Base Rate Charges through the date of the
bill, and water consumption from the prior meter reading date to
the most current reading date. Meters are typically read between
the 25th and the end of the month but this date may vary
depending on weather and staffing.
Accounts will be delinquent if payment has not been received by
the due date and will be assessed a $10 late fee. It is the
customer’s responsibility to assure that the payment reaches our
office by the due date. Services may be discontinued and
additional charges may be incurred if the past due amount is not
paid in full by the 1st Tuesday of the following month that
occurs on the 3rd of the month or after.
Customers are encouraged to pay their bill in a timely manner.
However, we consider payment arrangement requests on a per case
basis when a temporary situation exists that may cause a short
delay in payment. Please call our office prior to shut-off to
discuss this further.
