Although it falls from the sky a little more than we'd always like, water is an essential part of everyday life. Having safe potable water is important.

Water treatment plants remove contaminates from the water source and prepare it for human use. A variety of methods may be used. Cowlitz County a variety of methods, depending on the source of the water. To ensure safe drinking water, Department staff conduct regular testing.

Water delivery is also important. Our staff work directly or with contractors as needed to keep the pipes, lift stations and other equipment in working order.
