Cowlitz County's Excellence in Service Award 2008
Deputy Sheriff Jennifer Prusa Nominated for the county’s EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE AWARD
In Cowlitz County’s first annual Excellence in Service Award, the Sheriff’s Office proudly nominated Deputy Sheriff Jennifer Prusa.
Deputy Prusa is a 14 ½ year veteran with the Sheriff’s Office and has been a leader in many areas of CCSO. Her career thus far includes assignments in Patrol and Detectives. Some of her past accomplishments include founding the Every 15 Minutes program, creating our Narcotics Detection Dog program, and she currently serves as a Field Training Officer to train newly hired deputies.
Deputy Prusa was the primary driver behind bringing the Every 15 Minutes program to Cowlitz County. It was Deputy Prusa who created Cowlitz County’s program which has been responsible for saving dozens of young lives in our county.
Deputy Prusa is also one of two K-9 handlers at CCSO. She and K-9 “Annie” graduated from the state’s K-9 training academy and immediately gained Washington State certification. Jennifer and Annie are currently certified by the State of Washington as a “Master Narcotics K-9 Team”.
“It is an honor to have her on our team. I can think of no one who is more deserving of this recognition than Jennifer Prusa,” says Sheriff Bill Mahoney. “She constantly works to improve herself and the Sheriff’s Office. She’s not just a wonderful person, but an excellent law enforcement professional.”
Deputy Prusa was recognized by the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners on October 7, 2008.
